The KSS reading room is the place to be. A place for all to come and to get lost in the magical world of literature. New words to be learnt, characters to meet and places to go.
A fully stocked reading room, which opens every lunch time, was set up this year. Generously and kindly operated by KSS students who further demonstrate the core values of leadership, organisation and communication. Students are encouraged to come along and to pick up a book or to use their iPad to access audiobooks and e-books.
The rationale is to offer an opportunity to develop student's cultural capital whilst improving and building on their reading abilities. Everything we do is to ensure we have students who are ready for their next stage in life and literacy is a fundamental aspect of their development which is why our reading room is at the heart of the school. Whilst catering for all reading abilities we also offer a wide range of books inclusive of diverse and minority ethnic writers.
